Summary
In a four week sprint, I collaborated with Leading Insight to improve access to professional development for public servants. Through user research, we identified key challenges experience when advancing their careers: limited time, budget constraints, and a need for trusted learning resources. We designed and prototyped (medium & high fidelity) an on-demand learning platform offering flexible, modular courses that highlights the professionals delivering the material. This solution concept empowers public servants to pursue career goals through focused, cost-effective professional development.
THE PROBLEM
To expand their core business and leverage their existing learning and development materials
Leading Insight is a consultancy that provides support to public sector organisations in Australia. They now want to expand their learning and development and offer productised versions direct to consumers through on demand training packages aimed at junior to mid level public servants looking to upskill.

FINDINGS
Public servants regularly use On Demand Learning platforms
Public servants actively engage in upskilling through various channels, regularly utilizing On-Demand Learning platforms for both mandatory and independent external training. There's a clear preference for shorter courses, typically lasting from half a day to a week, and their overall experience with online training has been positive. A common procedural aspect of their upskilling journey involves seeking manager approval for work-funded external courses.
