About me

My journey from the dynamic classroom to the nuanced recording studio has uniquely paved the way for my passion in UX design. As an educator, I developed strong empathy and the ability to understand diverse needs – skills that are fundamental to user-centred design. My experience in audio engineering, where meticulous analysis creates immersive sonic experiences, has honed my eye for detail and my drive to craft intuitive digital products. The iterative nature of both teaching and audio production mirrors the UX process, fostering my love for continuous improvement and human-focused solutions. I'm an enthusiastic and collaborative individual passionate about designing exceptional user experiences.

Just as I tailored my teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of my students, I apply a deep-rooted empathy to understand user behaviours. This ability to connect with people is fundamental to the "Discover" phase of the Double Diamond, where active listening uncovers valuable insights. Similarly, in the recording studio, understanding an artist's vision is paramount, a skill directly transferable to defining project goals.

Creativity and Innovation

My experience in audio engineering fuels my approach to UX design. Experimenting with sounds and arrangements in the studio mirrors the "Ideate" phase, where I generate innovative solutions through brainstorming and prototyping. This blend of technical knowledge and creativity allows me to create engaging and user-centred designs.

Iterative Process and Refinement

Both teaching and audio production are inherently iterative processes. Refining teaching methods based on student feedback aligns with the "Develop" phase in UX design, where continuous testing and refinement are essential. In the recording studio, meticulous attention to detail, akin to mixing and mastering, ensures the final product meets the highest standards.

Delivering Impactful Solutions

The "Deliver" phase of the Double Diamond mirrors the final stages of audio production, where ensuring a mix translates seamlessly across different systems parallels the optimisation of designs for various platforms. Both require a keen eye for detail, adherence to technical specifications, and a relentless pursuit of continual improvement.
